Our staff is employed to assist the dentists in providing the very best dentistry for you and your family. Our staff is well trained and enthusiastic about all scopes of dentistry and dental management. Many staff members have been with the office for several decades. Our staff is here to help you in any way they can.

Dr. Debra Bazzey is a native of Plainfield, NJ. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Spelman College in 1998 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN in 2004. She completed a General Practice Residency Program at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY in 2005. Following her training she practiced extensively with children prior to joining The Progressive Dental Group team.

Michelle Nelson is our hygienist. Michelle has been working here for six years, making sure that our patients are comfortable and informed during hygiene appointments. Michelle offers a soft touch that will make your experience enjoyable. She maintain these high standards for each member of your family. Michelle loves to travel, shop, and cook.

Cynthia King is our our lead dental assistant Cynthia has been with Dr. Underwood-Hall since the opening of the new office. Cynthia  always has a warm greeting and friendly smile as she assists patients with insurance and administrative issues.   She is a professional consultant for Progressive Dental Group and will be happy to answer your questions.

Marika Smiley is our lead dental assistant. She is a native of Detroit Michigan and attended Forster University and has been a dental assistant for 8 years. Her caring manner always makes patients feel comfortable. She also maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and sterilization along with excellent chair side skills. She enjoys spending time with her three boys.

Reggie Makerson is an aspiring dentist and works with our practice in preparation for his next career.  A native of Augusta, Georgia, Reggie is a “Morehouse man” and plans to follow in the footsteps of his mother, Dr. Debra Makerson. He is finds himself doing whatever the practice calls for, mostly in the clinical area. Patients find his warmth and knowledge comforting and inviting.

Vernessa Griggs is another one of our hygienists. Vernessa is a native of Macon, Georgia and holds a degree in dental hygiene from Clayton State University. She has been a part of the practice for the past 4 years. She has excellent technical skills and a gentle hand that allows the patient to be comfortable during their visit. She maintains the highest standards of care for each member of your family. Three school-age children keep her busy when she is out of the office.

Taha Addow is the newest of our staff and joins us fresh out of dental assisting school. He is a graduate of Dekalb High School of Technology in Dunwoody, Georgia and also plans to go to dental school in the future. He won first place in regional competition for dental assisting as well as in the state competition for health occupation students. He is also bi-lingual.
